Commedians! Cars! Coffee! The web series that is the brain child of comedian and never-has-to-work-again syndication check recipient Jerry Seinfeld is headed back to a Web enabled device near you. After a 10-episode run last year, including a redemptive extended one with Michael Richards, it was left up in the air as to whether or not the series – in which Jerry picks up a comedian in a noteworthy car for a date that nominally includes coffee – would be back.

I’m happy to say it will. Happy, because I found the first season to be about the best thing since sliced bread. And I really like sliced bread, especially pumpernickel. In the upcoming series, Seinfeld coffees with Chris Rock, Don Rickles, Seth Myers and more. Of course of greater importance, he drives some awesome cars, including a baroque mint green Caddy Eldorado, a Deux Chevaux, and the ultimate in sex on wheels, a Lamborghini Miura.

He also expands his guest list to include more than just male comedians – not that there’s anything wrong with that – by having the profane, damn attractive, and very funny Sarah Silverman as a guest. The new series starts next Thursday and will be able to be found at comediansincarsgettingcoffee.com, starting that day at noon EDT. Check out the Acura-sponsored preview after the jump.

  1. Seinfeld was a show about nothing. It was a masterpiece and made Jerry incredibly wealthy (the highest net worth of any actor on that show not named Louis-Dreyfus). But it was scripted.
His current show does away with the script, so even though the running time is shorter, he manages to cram in more nothing. I hope it makes him even richer. Or gives him more nothing.

  2. I have had the great fortune to see Seinfeld do stand-up twice. The first time, I almost died of laughter. The second time, I was just slightly better prepared. (Don't be late for his show, whatever you do. The shame that this couple up front experienced was incredible.)
He is a funny, funny man, and I am glad this series is back.

  3. Man I can't wait, it looks even better than last season! Is it just me or does he seem to try and pick the car to match the comedian's personality, like MIchael Richards and the VW flatbed or Ricky Gervais in the Austin Healey? Eventually, I'd like to see Louis CK in a later (68-69) Fairlane or Rhys Darby in anything from British Leyland.

          1. Turns out we're both wrong. Chevaux is horses, but hairs is cheveux- though Google Translate accepts the misspelling "cheveaux" to mean horses.

    1. She's attractive in that "I'm on my 5th drink- I bet she'll do damn near anything once she's loaded" kind of way. Sorry..replace her head with something that looks less like her..and sure..she's attractive.

  4. I tried watching the series when it first started- I didn't get it. I guess I'll give it another go.
This is sort of how it went with my watching The Office.

  5. So, he's driving Letterman around in a car that Dave used to own. That could prove interesting.

  6. Sarah Silverman is damn attractive? She's doing a good job of hiding it if so. Heh.
