How are you spending Father’s Day this year? Well, if you happen to be in Los Angeles this weekend, you can celebrate dad’s day by attending the annual Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance. About 100 cars will be bringing the bling against the backdrop of some of the most hoidy-toidy shops in Beverly Hills. And unlike most everything else in the 90210, this is free.
Described by travel publisher Frommer’s as one of the “300 Unmissable Events & Festivals Around the World,” The Rodeo Drive Concours d’Elegance has been a Father’s Day tradition for five years running.
The cars are chosen by a select committee of notable automotive collectors including Shin Takei, Fred Bogardus, Creighton Turner, led by collector extraordinaire Bruce Meyer. The selection runs the gamut from street rods to the most exotic cars on the planet, and they’re all, of course, concours-level. This year the show celebrates 75 Years of Jaguar Heritage, and the company will have their new XJ there on display.
The show runs between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, along the 300 and 400 blocks of the tawny drive. Admission is free, but parking can be a problem in the area as there will be crowds. Also, it’ll be hot, so wear a hat and plenty of SPF.
These shots are all from last year’s show, but an equally eclectic mix of cars is expected this year, including the only Tucker Convertible there is. If you want to stop by and say, “hey,” I’ll most likely be lurking around most of the day, just look for a black XK-120 Jag.
Directions to the event can be found here.

Sometimes I wish I had never left California.

High end cars in Beverly Hills? What will they think of next? A rustbucket show near Detroit, oh wait….
-
Look for a very special, one-off Williams roadster at the Rodeo Concours.
If you happen to be in the Detroit area this weekend, the Eyes on Design show is an excellent event held on the grounds of the Edsel Ford estate. -
dammat! If people don't stop showing photos of Alfa rally cars I am going to go off the deep end. I have seriously formed an unhealthy obsession with these over the last few months. I really think an Alfa is gonna be Eleanors new adopted sister. That is a Guiletta Sprint right?
-
No, that's a stepnose GT. The Giulietta Sprint preceded the GT(A/V) by a few years.

I certainly value all of the hard work you have put into keeping this site going for everyone. I honestly hope this remains for a nice long time.
