Patchwork Beetle: your grandmother is jealous

"Harlequin Edition" has got nothing on THIS!

Maybe your grandmother had a VW Beetle similar to this one. Chances are, she didn’t wrap it in vintage fabrics from the Middle East, show it off at Milan Design Week and auction it off for charity towards the Haiti earthquake. Bokja Design did, however, and with surprisingly charming results.

Though I can’t imagine what it will smell like after it rains.

The light-less front is a bit disturbing – kind of like an eyeless face. Otherwise, seeing this cute car has resulted in "Incense and Peppermints" running through my brain in an endless loop.

BBC website had photo story about truck painting culture in Pakistan, there was also 1 bug which was painted there and which will drive to Europe, hmm….that's couple of thousand miles through not too secure places.http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/8635816.stm

Amazing that they obviously spent hours and hours doing this for a good cause. Yet they could mask the tires when they rattle-canned the wheels?
    Details people, details!

I'm pretty sure this is what Beetles were SUPPOSED to look like, circa 1969.
