Welcome back to the Off the Road Again podcast! We’ve missed you. The focus is on the off-road adventure, but we also dabble in all things SUV, truck, van, and maybe even some rally cars.
Ross and Chris discuss Overland Expo West. Ross bought a 1999 Miata. Chris attended Expo West and then went on an epic road trip through Arizona, Utah, Wyoming, and Colorado.

I don’t have time to listen to an hour long podcast, but as a resident of Flagstaff, I must say it would be nice if the Overland West crowd would respect the town which hosts the event. In particular this year the event was held during multiple red flag / fire warning days, and since some of these Overland sort can’t be the ones to use the shuttle services and park in lots, they park in all the adjacent forest land, because, hey, I’m an overlander!
Parking hot vehicles in tall grass is a major idiot move during fire season, and since this happens less than a mile from my house, had something flared up, really bad things would have happened.
Sorry, just wanted to vent about this.
The number of fires I saw during the show was disconcerting. We stayed in a house nearby the show, but the booths promoting their fire pit gear almost always had flames going. With the 50+ mph winds on Friday and it being pretty windy the rest of the weekend, it was very irresponsible.
