No biography of the LongRoofian would be complete without [edited for length and adherence to subject matter] and your continued enjoyment of these ramblings is certainly welcome.

    1. The 1g engine cover is proving difficult to Google for me as well, but as far as I can tell the vents on it are punched in rather than out. Otherwise it could be a dead ringer.

  1. These are ridiculously familiar looking… But not a VW type 3, not a Corvair/van/wagon… I'm at a loss

    1. We have a winner!
      Wait, let's check with the judges… hmm? Mmmhmm… yup… uh huh…
      Yeah, NO.

    1. I'll give it a shot; the first is the current smiley-face Mazda 3 (possibly a Speed3 'cuz it's red), 3rd one is the hood of a 370z, but the second one is not the side of a 2011 Mustang. Hmm…

      1. #1 is indeed a Speed 3. The color is important in #2. #3 is a hood and the only 2011 of the bunch, but it's only about half the car that a 370Z is.

        1. Lotte was almost right about #2, but it isn't a Ford or Ford-related.
I was a little bit off about #3 being half a 370Z; however, half, plus the number of the Mile Road adjacent to its factory, and then minus one will get you the number of this car.

          1. The 200? Do they come in green? I don't think so, but there are two silver or primer spots on that picture in the door sill so maybe it's green for a reason, like some hybrid or something.

          2. Never mind, I'm a moron, #3 is the Chrysler 200 hood.

  2. Now, Now,
Surely not everyone could miss this one. It is as easy as riding a bike.
It is the air intake system for a 1926 OIASASON, model 130r9ffnnv.
Left side of center taken from a 38.6 degree angle with a partly cloudy sky with the sun in the lower right quadrant of the sky.
It was a Monday afternoon with rain forcast for the evening.
The vehicle was moved five times to get the correct angle so as to stump each and every reader.
FuzzyPlushroom seems to be the closest. A/C intake vent from the Taj Mahal. Beachside, Omond Beach FLA

    1. Har-har! You made me search that…"B-but, Google says the Oiasason isn't a car!…wait…"
      It's either a Morning-Qualifying-worthy Grand Prix racer, vintage F1, or a bus. I dunno.

  3. At first I thought it was something from Local Motors but then I realized that's a louver, not a Fighter.

  4. Ah for a second I thought it was a trick question and that it was really an 88 Chrysler New Yorker again, but the normal New Yorker had no louvers in 88, and the Fifth Avenue had 12 long vents and not 11 short ones.

  5. It makes me so happy that you're all stumped. I was just going to have to post a picture of a bolt and make you guess where it was from.

    1. In all fairness, we have yet to hear from Mike the Dog or Tonyola. If neither of them know what it is, then we have truly reached maximum stumpage.

      1. I'm flattered that my abilities are held in high esteem, but this one beats the shit out of me.

      2. Usually those guys play like Ken Jennings, and don't buzz in if they don't know the answer. But who knows, maybe they started Memorial Day vacation early.

    1. Sure enough, there's the answer.
For those that don't feel like cheating, I'll give you a hint: They really aren't very big.

  6. Fiat 500 louvers, located below the rear window. One set facing left, the other set facing right.

    1. I thought of that too but the VW's louvers are innies, not outies. Plus they're grouped differently.
