As many of you know, I like to take the opportunity these weekly Mystery Car contests afford to look back on some aspect of automotive history that just so happens to share the dame date. This week it’s all about Ford as September 9 was the day in 1953 when the Ford Motor Company produced its 40 millionth car, a Mercury convertible to be exact. It was also on this day in 1982 that Henry Ford II retired. He would still have sway in the company that carried his name until his passing on September 29th, 1987 at age 70.
Now that we’ve gotten all that out of the way, let’s get back to the task at hand, which is this week’s Mystery Car. Could it be a Ford? Whatever it is, please let us know both the make and model in your guess.
