Yeah, so…sorry to leave so many of you hanging when it comes to LeMons coverage. Turns out, there’s not really time to drive, wrench like crazy and blog an event. No doubt you’ve been keeping up with Judge Martin’s coverage, so hopefully you haven’t been completely in the dark. We’ve got plenty of pictures and some in-car footage that we’ll treat you to this week. Hit the jump for a quick summary and some shots of the Uberbird…
Saturday went relatively smoothly for Der Uberbird, with only a leaking tranny cooler hose and a self-disassembling exhaust to deal with. Sunday started well, but a series of mechanical woes, a not-so-minor contact event and a few somewhat mysterious black flags slowed our roll considerably. We peaked in the low-60s, place-wise, but finished something like 87th by the time the shards of guibo dust settled.
Summaries from everything else: The Pandamonium Racing e30 won overall (after donating the #43 to us), The Bug (Actual Name: Team Purple LeMons Racing, ’69 Beetle) got Index of Effluency, at least 3 cars went wheels-up, and Chief Perpetrator Jay Lamm claimed the V12 Mercedes for his own.
We’re insanely tired and it’s quittin’ time. More ex-post-facto coverage as the week goes on and we get to sorting all these pictures.

LeMons Update: It's Over! Team Uberbird Finishes…Well, Let's Just Say We Finished
-
Good job! Just to finish is an honor. Maybe "honor" isn't the right word, but you know what I mean.
-

Mysterious black flags?
Honestly, you must have us confused with the other BMW Daytona/Superbird.
/The Academy has nominated you in the category of "Best Wing". Well done, and congratulations.-
We had two, where we pulled in for black flags … and they said they didnt have anything on us.
Later, I pulled in for a black flag for passing under a yellow – coming over a crest, the TR7 passed ME under yellow then waved my back in front of him… and I got the flag. Oh well…
I was just happy the car finished – that was a great feeling pulling in under the checkered flag… -
The flagman works NASCAR races for a living. Mysterious black flags and mysterious debris on the backstretch are part of the training.

Alright! after all my critique of your giant wing I'm glad to see it make it all the way through to the finish. Well done guys, well done.

Man, that must have been one helluva fun weekend. Good job on finishing, and the nose didn't even get smooshed.
-
The team next to us (Chia Bulls) said they were shocked that we didn't bang up the nose at all… The only real damage to it was caused by the tow straps from the rescue truck (we got towed in twice!)
-
Couldn't've said it better. Good car, good show, good job keeping the nose pointy.

Congratulations, chaps! Are you sticking with this theme for the next race?
-
I'm jealous.
Good job, and congratulations! -
Can i take a one small picture from your blog?
