Last Call: You can get a custom Lego model of your car and that’s amazing!

By Colby Buchanan Apr 2, 2020

I am a big fan of Lego. So getting a custom set of your very own car would be amazing! Enter @sp_lineup, who is a professional at making your Lego fantasies come true by making one-off models to order. From a Supra all the way to a Defender he can make just about anything. They can get up there in price but that’s the case with pretty much anything custom, Lego included. And honestly, Legos are just expensive in general so I’m not really surprised.

Now, if I had a super modified car it would be such a cool house piece to have it remade for your living room or office. Something to show off and strike up a conversation since it’s such a unique piece of art. Would you drop the cash on one for your trophy car?

Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, but it’s also encouraged.

  1. I don’t know how much it costs to have someone build a model of your car out of Lego, but I wouldn’t be surprised if you could have a custom model 3D printed for less money, and have it look more accurate to the 1:1 car. Honestly, I thought the featured car was supposed to have been a Mustang before I saw the description.

I respect the skill involved in creating a plastic version of your car, but the point of Lego is to express your creativity, not pay someone else to be creative on your behalf.

    1. Or start with the closest diecast model and customize it. There’s some amazing diecast customizers out there, sometimes all you need is a re-paint and wheel swap, but there’s people out there who fabricate body modifications (my favorite I’ve seen recently is someonw who grafted a boat tail riveria roof onto an XK roadster). It’s incredible what some people can do with a little bit of JB weld. 3D printing is being utilized too to add plastic details as well, but there something about someone handforming metal details in tiny scale.

      1. I got lucky, Matchbox makes a 2016 Mazda CX-5 in Soul Red, now I guess I need to see if anybody ever did a model of my F-150 since I can always repaint it. My motorcycle is surprisingly hard to find, while there are several R100RS models I’ve never seen an R100S model, although I could probably kitbash an RS into an S If I could find a seat and fairing from an R90S model

        1. I’m pretty sure the demand for a Hot Wheels Kia Sedona in brown is pretty low, so I’m not holding my breath.

          1. You might be surprised what turns up as a Hot Wheels, or especially a Matchbox these days. There’s always the wanting the toy version of the parents car factor so its not all Hot Rods and supercars. Matchbox often focus on “regular” cars, Hot Wheels have done a Honda Odessey and Chrysler Pacifica (modified and overland style respectively). German brand Siku does a Sorrento and Welly have done 1:36 scale versions of several Kias so who knows? I’m not super optimistic, but I wouldn’t rule it out either.

          2. Have you checke out Ixo and Altaya? My favourite 1:43 makers, because they have all. the. odd. cars. I would love for someone to order something like the first gen Hyundai Elantra or whatever forgettable economybox with no reputation for survival though.

  2. That guy’s a pro, no doubt, but my enjoyment wouldn’t be in having a LEGO model of my car, but in building one.

  3. Could I get a the price for both a 1993 mr2 with a spoiler or a 1993 r32 with a spoiler, splitter kits too, and like small wide body kit on both. Like overfenders. Right hand or left hand drive either or thank you

  4. Hi, i found you by searching custom made lego cars on Google. Would it be possible to make a Lego version of my MK6 Ford Fiesta ST150?

not sure of the stud width size you work too, but was thinking 8 studs wide might be a nice size?

I will put my Youtube Channel link in the below Website seciton. Maybe we could do a collaboration?
