A typical goal of the average teenaged boy is to see a girl with her clothes off. Perhaps more exciting to the not so typical teen, and most likely to most of us adults, is the view of a Mercedes Benz 300sl Gullwing, showing off its bare bones. It just doesn’t get much more Sport Leicht than this.

This should have been a "What's your favourite naked car?" post.
And who says "looks are only skin deep?"
Ah, the Senator Ted Stevens Signature Edition!
Oh Lordy. Rudi Uhlenhaut's genius displayed for all the world to see.
The wind beneath this '67 Corvette.

Colin Chapman would smile.
Dat Tubin'…
Wow, it reminds me of the 300SL Gullwing restoration carried out a few years ago at Peter Klutt's shop on Dream Car Garage. What an amazing car, from the body and frame, to the direct injected six, to the fitted luggage.
This'n's not so nice.

Geez- 60K for a pile of rust. No Thanks.
Looks like one user bought both cars. I highly doubt that he paid anywhere near $60k for that pile. I imagine that since the previous owner was seeking a trade, that's likely what happened… Maybe a nice Porsche for both cars??
I've seen quite a few Mercedes where the bodywork has almost completely disappeared, but they've usually been W210 E-classes.
I get to upskirt and take open tops of cars all day long, I am creepytechguy and am not ashamed.
This one always made me smile, especially considering that the drivetrain ended up under a 9-3 lonroof…

Awesome car.
Just as god and nature always intended.
Thanks. Now I can't get that stupid hook out of my head.
The hook. It brings you back.

I ain't tellin you no lie.
Is it wrong to want to hoon this almost as-is, with only a sheet-metal floorpan and some bomber seats added? I mean, I like the original Gullwing bodywork, but I'm seeing this one as a retro version of the Ariel Atom.
