  1. I find it hard to believe that the float like a butterfly stingin' Ali would be riding Excalibur, but that's how it looks to me.

    1. remember that the Corvette-engined Excaliburs were ridiculously fast for the mid sixties, crushing almost anything on the road if you were willing to take your life into your hands. The vintage styling just made the ridiculous performance seem all the more over the top.

      1. Oh crap, you're not kidding!! From the Wiki:
General Motors friends Ed Cole and "Bunkie" Knudsen agreed to provide Brooks Stevens with Chevrolet 327s in 300-bhp Corvette tune, making the 2100-pound Excalibur a strong performer. With the standard 3.31:1 rear axle, acceleration from 0-60 mph took less than five seconds. Projected top speed was 160 mph.[2]
In the 1960's, under 5 seconds to 60 was super car territory!!

  2. Ali didn't have to worry about having a car that could beat Steve McQueen, he had his fists.

    1. I thought it was Sammy, until they said Cosby. It is him, it is just odd to see him with the 'stache.
