If you’re going to live in a cool mid-century modern abode, you simply must also choose to drive the most fashionable of mid-century rear-engine, air-cooled automobiles.
Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.

Let’s appreciate Peugeot’s website for one rare moment.

I suppose they aren’t going to show a crashed 404, but that picture is a good consolation for not seeing the page you wanted

This is how you put the boat in the shed……….. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/fd39aac20397f5f647a0dcce003678f9590457c089105884e758b36bb81e50e4.gif

Too bad boats don’t have a reverse gear…
-
stupid third worlders killing the boat that they live off. Afterwards they complain about colonialism having killed their economical basis. Give them back their dugout canoes.
-
No matter what I post ,somebody has to have that negative comment.
-
Wow, you’re an expert on global economic (pardon me, ‘economical’) history, seamanship and ridiculous valve trains? Golly, I’m so impressed! Not.

Thank You.

This is a Shannon-class lifeboat, it weighs 15 tons. And yes, it’s designed to do that. -

Watch this with the sound off. “Here we see the best and brightest software engineers sourcing and installing the bugs in the next generation of Microsoft products!”

I am fairly convinced that the car on the left is a Porsche 356. Note the rear bumper guards along with the general shape of the car. Still working on the other one https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5bed7a4d51b35e8c338d9765b0e24ca9e3a629c8282cd4dd9e66203391b2c670.jpg

Here’s a slightly bigger resolution of it, maybe someone can recognize it better now. At first I thought it was a Mercedes fintail because of the overall shape and the bumper guards, but when you zoom in you can clearly see round tail lights. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/04a4167c54908417789eae11231970430de46f2948e1b4d86f0438f3efa674d1.jpg

Corvair?
-
Yes, Corvair, and it’s an early (1960-64). I think the two bright vertical lines near the center are part of the license plate surround (stamped aluminum).

Looks too narrow and tall. NSU? https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/26410cf98396aba18671044bbd3c319da2596b4ae202347658a91615218ed857.jpg

SS owners, is this for real?:
“For those who don’t know, skipshift is a practice used by General Motors to save fuel. When the RPMs are low enough, the car automatically locks you out of 2nd and 3rd gears and only lets you shift into fourth—it’s infuriating!”

No wonder manuals are dying.-
It is a thing. CAGS. Computer Aided Gear Selection. GM has been doing it since the C4 Corvette to help their CAFE numbers, but it’s incredibly easy to bypass with simple wiring “adjustments”.
-
Nice, never knew about it. Not sure if it is better if it’s just a play for the gallery, but it’s interesting how they risk annoying lots of customers for what must be a minimal improvement in MPG numbers.
-
Especially since before people figured it was easy to disable, they just accelerated harder off the line so it wouldn’t kick in.
-
Chrysler has the Hellcat, GM has performance triggers disguised as gas savers.
