Ya think this pilot drives a bimmer? He sure parks like he does.
Boeing 737 MAXs have been grounded for some time. Typically airports are not designed to store planes, so this is an issue because planes are kind of big. TUI Airways had to use the employee parking lot to store their MAXs until the planes are allowed to fly again.
This is a serious issue. From The Los Angeles Times:
Crews have sealed 34 Southwest Airlines Co. jets against the Mojave Desert’s sun, wind and sand, as well as insects and birds that can creep into wheel wells and engine air inlets. Southwest declined to discuss the expense, but one industry veteran said such sojourns run about $2,000 a month for each plane — a small but critical cost amid Boeing’s many looming financial penalties.

It’s a great size comparison and of all things…the plane seems smaller than expected.
I fly a lot with Norwegian and they have many 737’s, of both varieties. Not sure if Boeing’s approach to safety can be called “sloppy” because of one quite deadly miscalculation, but it sure affects its customer airlines a lot. Despite filling over 80% of its seats on average, down and rental costs eat up this airline’s margins.
So is there a Chrysler and a Toyota of airplane manufacturers?
It wasn’t one fatal accident, it was two, killing over 300 people in two continents and completely caused by corporate cost-cutting, in a GM-like way

I know a pilot who is a Boeing fan and he once sneeringly described Airbus as being from the same country that made Peugeot 306s and Renault 19s. His friend snapped back that that might be preferable to having a plane from the country that made Chevrolet Cavaliers and Cadillac Cimarrons.
Ouch!
That picture was taken at Boeing Field in Seattle. Boeing has MAX’s stacked up like cord wood at Boeing Field, the Renton plant and at the Everett plant. Here’s the video where this pic was lifted: https://youtu.be/46InmJexzYg

Hmmm. Parked like a BMW. Maybe my feelings are hurt because I’m one of the good guy BMW parkers, or maybe I’m just getting old but my go-to analogy would have been Prince’s Little Red Corvette
Well, I guess I should’ve known by the way
You parked your car….”
Opposed to the common image, the planes will blink all the time.
