In case you aren’t aware, there’s a GT 86 that’s been engine swapped with a Ferrari 458 engine. Now that you’re up to speed, let’s take a second to appreciate how amazing it is! Built for Formula DRIFT in 2016 where it was driven by Ryan Tuerck. Even though 86s have been V8 swapped a million times, it’s different when you try and slam in one that’s meant for a mid-engine car. The 458 engine isn’t designed for a front-engined 86 so everything’s all backward. That’s why you can see the exhaust coming out the front before shooting out the side of the front bumper.
Despite all the challenges they had to overcome, they did it and it sounds so smooth. The 86 is a great looking car no doubt, but the trumpet-like exhaust note can become a bit annoying. So seeing this beast slide around with an Italian opera bellow from its throat is definitely a beautiful sight to behold.
