Last Call: Filling Your Tank Edition

Look, I’ll be the first to admit that I didn’t even know there was such a thing as the Danish Army, let alone an annal Åben Hede event where the tank corp can show off their stuff. I guess it must be pretty far away too, if you have to fill up on the way.
Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.

Painful for me to watch, although it does explain why KV door handles are so difficult to find:

I agree. That hurt to watch.

Painful to watch. I did take joy from watching the head-shaped dent form, though. At least these guys got some of what they deserved.

Is this why Top Gear were always telling the Star In A Reasonably Priced Car, “Don’t Lift!”? I never did find out what happened if you lifted.

I must say I’m surprised by the amount of speed they were carrying into the turn, especially with 2 grown men in the car.

Are you all kidding? No comments on filling the tank at a gas station?
When I was younger I was an armored cavalry officer in the US Army and it never occurred to me to fill up at a filling station. There was always a tanker that came ti fill them all up at once.

Only if there was an AAFES station nearby and you had your ration card, otherwise it’s hello local economy prices! Then again, I doubt that many of the locals would be willing to object to someone with a 120 mm smooth bore, a .50 cal and a .30 cal mounted on their vehicle; of course the public affairs type would go apeshit…

LOL – what kind of MBT Is this? That’s not an M1 is it? It looks tiny here, like an M551 (it’s not one, but it looks small like that) . . . this is NATO but not US, right?

It’s a (German) Leopard 2A5DK of the Royal Danish Army (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leopard_2), the sign in front of the pumps is advertising a demonstration day open to the public called Åben Hede Oksbøl (Open Heat Oksbøl) which you can see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90QqqXdCtnQ

Evidently our squad has prevailed in the recent match against our rivals. As evidenced by the stick-of-dynamite sized explosions and people driving 6 blocks with the horn button held down all around my neighborhood.

And you thought working at a gas station was a tankless job.
