Ad men are notorious for selling the sizzle and not the steak. Every once in a while, though, the actual technical merits of the product are showcased. The tech-talk in this Suzuki magazine spread from 1976 isn’t really as in-depth as it appears to be at first blush, but the cool graphics sure make it feel as though you’re getting a heady hit of gearhead-worthy data. The chalkboard motif would go on to be used in a whole series of ads in 1976 and ’77.
Last Call indicates the end of the Hooniverse broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, it’s encouraged.

Has anyone tried to use a dash cam on a 6v electrical system car?
I’m not finding anyone that is battery powered (I don’t want to modify the electrical system on the car) besides using a gopro.
You need a DC-DC Step-up converter.

It’s a typical example of showing what you’re not supposed to do, and hence possibly achieving the opposite effect of what the article is about (snapping while driving is irresponsible and stupid). I have to admit I have taken driving pictures, too, though never in dense traffic and never to send them to someone right away.
In that tunnel is a speed limit of 80km/h, enforced by two speed cameras at the entrances and by calculating the average. See how well it’s working, the driver sticking at 79 all day?
I so strongly dislike average speed measurements. Lærdalstunnelen has that, too – 23km of continous tunnel in a car without cruise control…this is mental punishment before anything else. And then you’re stuck behind someone only doing 78.5.
See the benefit: 78.5 instead of 80.0 is 20 seconds longer on that distance – that’s four more snap videos you can post!
I will fully admit to taking pictures while driving, but it’s always just pointing my phone in the approximate direction of what I want to shoot while keeping my eyes on the road, and hoping it turns out.
