Last Call: Big grille or small grille?

By Colby Buchanan May 11, 2020

Since the i8 is now kaput we are getting teased on the next BMW to replace it. The Vision M NEXT is supposed to fill that shoe. I personally like it but I find it funny that it has a normal grille. All of BMW’s new cars are getting those bucktooth massive kidney bean things and I think it looks ridiculous. But if the M NEXT comes out looking like this (which it could based on how the i8 turned out) I wouldn’t even be mad. It might look a little too futuristic for modern-day but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Let’s just hope this one is faster than the i8.

Last Call indicates the end of Hooniverse’s broadcast day. It’s meant to be an open forum for anyone and anything. Thread jacking is not only accepted, but it’s also encouraged.

  1. Good start to the wood gathering. Found a downed ponderosa, massive, almost 22″ diameter at the base https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/5b56e3326f75dc4b086f5905a632d7e8c3d02fd4b3e4c0712969257959e356a8.jpg . One cord down, though it took two trips to load it all. I couldn’t lift the massive rounds to the second layer of the trailer, probably for the better, said the x3.

    1. Best time of the year! But it does hit me how different our wood gathering is. I often need to secure my trees and sometimes myself on our 30° muddy hills, then labour like a mad man to move the wood up or down the hill to the only access road. This is often the most work. You get to drive straight into a light, open forest obviously created by fairytale writers. 🤪

Ad BMW NEXT, it has a stoopit name that is neither meaningful nor funny nor particularly inspired, but the design is fantastic. Everything is in relative proportion to each other. Small grille all the way – and it’s an EV anyway.

      1. If I want oak, I have to trapse off into the forest and drag it back. This really was almost perfect. We’re allowed to drive off road to collect, but not scout, so depending on the terrain, it’s easy, or challenging. This particular area has a number of large pines that were blown down this winter, so if you’ll burn pine, it’s there for the taking.

  2. They have to cool the batteries anyway. Maybe BMW could use this as an excuse for where they place the radiators and raise the .cd of the vehicle.

    1. BMW could put their newfangled tech in that very same M1 body and sell as many as they wanted.
