I actually saw a 300ZX convertible yesterday with the plate: "KAR 300Z".
Speaking of banishment, that might be the fate of my KLR650, after I learned today that my counterbalancer drive chain was running loose and did this to its sprocket on the crank (the one further back with the roller chain)…

It doesn't look that expensive, but that sprocket is integral to the left end of the crankshaft, a $350 part from a Kawasaki dealer, or I could get a whole crank at the low low price of $650; I bet I can source a whole good, used engine for not much more. One way or another I'm going to be visiting a scrapyard, either to fetch what the bike needs or to retire it (and 2011 was probably going to my last year riding this bike anyway…. it's got almost 50,000 miles, 40k of those from me in the last 6 years, and I've proved everything I wanted to prove with it.)
