As promised, here are a few more cruising cars from yesterday’s May Day cruise – wagons this time. It seems VW Buses and US-made beaters are wagons of choice for the wrenching individual.
Here’s a bunch of the aforementioned VW Buses. I like the orange one best, but you can’t beat the train-nosed two-toned grey one for vintageness.
Moving on to the US section:
This Chevy actually looks really neat. It’s lost a good amount of trim and the fat rear tires give out the hint that there’s an extra amount of grunt driving them.
In comparison, this one is a lot more beateresque. They didn’t even bother hosing it down beforehand.
Hey, a Pontiac version. Here’s another:
A rattlecan Buick also served:
And the last of that floorpan bunch is a hand-decorated Buick Electra wagon.
This violet Aspen wagon is a cheerful, lightweight option in comparison to the more heavyset bunch, but it’s got a 5.2-litre V8 under the hood.
In closing, here is a menacing Plymouth Fury wagon. Just needs a lick of paint, but it’s perfectly serviceable as is.
