Another one of our Fastbackesque Friday posts (anything with a swoopy roofline, but with more than a finger’s worth of rear plane after the rear window) is this Renault Alpine A110. Think smurf blue, you think of the Alpine A110 – such a signature colour it is. But what makes this Alpine different from most is the Latin American vibe in the French cooking: it’s one of the 500 Mexican-built cars by Diesel Nacional.
It’s also for sale in its home country. Make the jump for more informacion.
The Guadalajaran seller mentions this 61,000 mile car has had its 1.1-litre engine bored to 1400cc, with a new Dellorto carburador and los headeres.
While it’s certainly a light enough car to be brisk even with the regular unit, a tuned 1400 engine should make things even more interesting.
Current bid is at $24,337 with the reserve not met; the Buy It Now price is $30k. Does it seem a good price for a classic, small, fun French car with a racing heritage? No?
Well, let me tempt you with another pic from the advertisement:
See? The ladies just can’t resist the Alpine. I’d also like to see anybody attempt to accommodate any more than one of those pneumatic honeys inside the positively tiny Alpine.
You have three days to grab the Dinalpin A110. Link to ad here
