Since Star Wars: The Force Awakens has debuted a couple of weeks back it seems that pictures of all the Star Wars cars that have been created over the past 30 or so years have been making their way back online.
Star Wars isn’t the only film for which people have made homage cars, and in fact, it’s one of the more odd mashups since there aren’t actually any cars in the movie. Perhaps more appropriate are those which actually mimic the cars or trucks in the film, like the Jurassic Park Jeep above. Watch out for spitting dinosaurs in that one!
Have you seen some more accurate homages – or better, cars that fete a movie but make you go WTF at the sight of them? What are the best or craziest movie homage cars you’ve ever come across?

I wouldn’t say necessarily the best replica, but perhaps the most replicated, in terms of percentage of original base model production:

As a percentage of original production, you’re almost certainly right. As a percentage of remaining vehicles, a certain orange Dodge Charger would give it a run.

Especially when you include clones that didn’t start off as Chargers.

I’m surprised by how much I like that VW.

It’s a Subaru.

My answer was to OA5599 really, must have clicked on the wrong “reply” with my sausagy fingers. The Justy looks very cool, too.

I pity the fool that gets his hands on an early-80s Vandura and makes a General Lee tribute instead.
-
Well, it’s kind of a General Lee/A-team mash-up. Maybe the 2 sides we can’t see have the melange weighted the opposite way?

I doubt that there is a surviving 1959 Cadillac ambulance that isn’t an ECTO-1. http://www.geek.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/09/ghostbusters-cadillac_tGZ5z_48.jpg

Probably 10 years ago I took my Thunderbird to a small cruise in. There were maybe 50-60 cars there, and two were General Lee replicas.
I snapped a photo of a local guy’s replica earlier this year at a screening of BTTF (which was followed by a Q&A with Missouri-native and BTTF producer Bob Gale).
Bob was good enough to sign the dash for the guy.
Loch David Crane’s “Star Trike” …because he’s been actively riding it pretty much everywhere since 1981. It’s been burned, wrecked, and rebuilt twice.

Spotted a Firebird XWing on 121 yesterday… I didn’t have my phone ready but figured it’s be on google.
I was right.

I was pretty impressed when this popped up here.

Until it gets the awesome (and prescient!) plexiglass sunroof, no deal.
If John Hammond spared no expense, neither should they.

Honda (del sol) CRX-Wing?
How about this Escort-based Batmobile?
I spotted these Blues Brothers movie cars a whiles back at the local celebrity car museum. Sorry for the shitty quality of the image. It was a bright sunny day.
Lead image reminded me of it, but the Jurassic Park YJ fans are pretty intense.
I may or may not have promised myself to own one (in full livery) before I die.
I’m a little bit biased but…

This poor Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione (one of only 500 ever made)

The story goes that it was a development prototype, and as such, it couldn’t be sold to the public and was meant to be scrapped anyway. It’s still sad.
-
I hope that they scrapped it by jumping it over a washed out bridge on a dry gully somewhere in the Appalachians. Whilst shouting the Italian for ‘Yeeehaaaa!’.
(Fiat Chrysler Automotive: Just good ol’ boys, never meaning any harm…)
There are some good and bad Mad Max replicas around plus replicas of the police cars from the first movie. Also some of the original cars from the second movie filmed out near Broken Hill exist, by that time people realised it was worth holding on to them.
