Hooniverse Asks: What Would a Hooniverse Pack for Forza 6 Look Like?

Forza6
Oh what a world of wonder we live in.
With the advent of modern technology today we can drive pretty much any car we want, on almost any track there is. And we don’t even have to leave the house to do it. Video game driving sims like Grand Turismo, Need for Speed, and Forza have given us virtual access to an amazing world of sights and sounds that’s as close as your living room TV.
Oh sure, we prefer the real deal, but for many that’s just not an option. Hell, it’s not an option for a lot of us most of the time. That’s why we like to race on the TV as well as the track, and if we’re going to race then we need a car—or better, a corral of them. That’s where you come in. As you know Forza allows you to add cars through DLCs and car packs and so along with a virtual experience on the track and behind the wheel it also lets you be a make believe collector too. With that in mind, and considering that you all probably know us pretty well having hung out here for a while, what do you think would be the ultimate Hooniverse Forza pack?

    1. The Bristol spare tire idea is incredible. It’d be like an easter egg and would need to have a trophy tied to achieving it.

      1. My first car was also a truck, in the form of an ’89 Ranger XLT extended cab. 2.3L, 5 speed, mmm.

      2. I was there for one of those races in the picture above, in downtown Des Moines, IA (the gold dome in the background is the Iowa state capitol building). Des Moines hosted a full SCCA racing weekend in the early 1990s (1991-93, IIRC), with everything from Formula Ford through Trans-Am on a 2 mile (or so) street course. The Archers (the Jeep truck) were the ones to beat in that class. That particular race weekend went bye-bye after 1993, when the Des Moines River flooded during race weekend, and the team transports barely got out of town before things got very soggy there.

  1. AC 427 Frua
    Iso Grifo
    Gilbern Invader
KV1 and that yellow Ace and Gary electric car
    Monteverdi Hai
    Innocenti Turbo
    Festiva Shogun
Zombee Racer MGB (my real Hooniverse #1 choice and Pete is awesome)
    DeTomaso Vallelunga
Chevrolet SS because one of our friends ordered one and it is a magnificent sleeper

  2. FWIW, I had two 1970 Challengers the same FK5 color as the one in the lede. One of them was a real R/T, with severe rust in the tops of the fenders, but otherwise complete. I paid $80 for it.
    Very Hoonappropriate.

    1. ZING!
Also, a 1965 Ford F100 that at some point in the game gets a Coyote 5.0 swapped into it, but that point is completely random and unknown to the user.

      1. I was working a lot in a big high mountain cabin off the student season back then. Due to my blinded approach to cars, with cubism being the main theme, I usually chose this one on the PS2 somebody brought with them. I could see high end sports cars crashing off corners and into walls all around me, but my slow, steady lines would grant me a win or two, particularly on the ‘ring. Good times. Also a good virtual car to drive in non-virtual excessive use of spirits.

  3. Every race involving the Hooniverse pack should feature a rolling chicane in the form of a Falcon Ranchero running in reverse.

  4. I’ve put a fair amount of thought into potential additions to Forza 6 (as anyone who has seen my post in the official wishlist thread on the official forum will tell you), and here are the seven – the number of vehicles in a real Forza 6 car pack – that I reckon have the most Hooniversal appeal:
    -1976 Chevrolet Vega Cosworth
    -1982 Mercedes-Benz 300 TD Turbodiesel
    -1974 Mazda Rotary Pickup
    -2015 Ford FG-X Falcon XR6 Turbo Utility
    -1956 Tatra 603
    -2004 Volkswagen Phaeton W12
    -1988 Subaru Justy 4WD
