Recently, I was listening to Pandora (Pantera station – don’t judge), looking for some good driving music, when this classic came up. Now, I make no bones about my love of all sounds metal, including the boys from the Bay area. I’ve never really stopped listening to Metallica, but I don’t play them every day like I used to. This will definitely put them back in the rotation, though.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 20 years since this song hit the airwaves; I was just a young, dumb 15-year old kid back then, and driving was still another six months off. This song connected with a lot of guys and gals my age back then, and even today, it gets my adrenaline pumping. Quench my thirst with gasoline, indeed. It makes me want to go lay some 11’s in my truck. Very small 11’s.
All this got me thinking: what other car-themed songs are in your playlists? What classic or forgotten gems have made a comeback?

Last week I was splitting lanes of stopped traffic wearing the dirt bike helmet and singing Chuck Berry’s “My Ding-A-Ling”, frequently I just go with “The Doom Song” by Gir (Invader Zim)
With a Bocephus sticker on his 442 he used to light ’em up just for fun.
Holy crap how could I forget this one. Listen to it once a month when I really need some noise therapy.
