As a little teaser for an upcoming post about the Street Rod Nationals event held last month here in Springfield, here is some footage from the autocross event that they hosted. The promoter reminded us that this was the first autocross that the Street Rod Nationals had hosted in 40 years. It was open to all entrants, no matter what kind of vehicle. My favorite was this bruiser, a 1969 Chevelle being thrown around by a very capable owner, as you will see. It wasn’t the quickest car at all, but it was the coolest. Check it out.

  1. Nice! Having recently done something similar in the same era car – he must have power steerig to deal with those tight terns so well; otherwise there will be a lot of wheel-twirling needed!
