One day in Helsinki, a heavy thunderstorm rolled in from the west and the heavens opened. As soon as it had appeared, it was gone, with the air cleared, all the previous days’ heat just gone and the time just right for a late evening walk around the neighbourhood.
Sure enough, I had my phone ready for anything that could interest me, and this classic Jaguar popped up after just a little while.
Leaper and all, with chrome only slightly patinated, the 4.2-litre Jaguar had incredible presence on the Helsinki sidestreet.
Who cares about mismatching wheels?
The colour works immensely well especially on a rainy day.
Helsinki Weekend Edition: Jaguar XJ6 Series III

Interesting find. Trying to work out if that’s a US-model car or not; it doesn’t have the side repeaters for the indicators, but does have the super-chunky rubber-insert bumpers and side marker lights with reflectors.
-
It has side repeaters. The rear side repeater has just been replaced with black plastic/painted over. The non-US models came with smaller front side repeaters.

Even the US versions look good. These are the best looking Jaguars.
Perfect proportions.
Pininfarina’s new turret on the S2 body was the best ‘facelift’ ever.
