Happy Memorial Day

Damned allergies.
I love that commercial. Kinda makes me want to buy a '69 Mustang. -
From a postcard I received on Saturday from Iraq:
"…it is miserably hot. People all across Iraq are lucky to get 4-5 hours of electricity per day! The level of violence is creeping up here as more and more troops leave. It is going to be a long summer." -
The tears start for me in the first minute of this commercial. It always happens, and I can't help it.

Me too. Except this was the first time I'd seen this. Very moving, especially today.

It's been an emotional day. I've started on the most complicated cambelt job of my life, my girlfriend's stuck in London and, now, you hit me with this! Never seen it before.
To all you with loved ones stationed overseas; I extend my warmest wishes. -
I have never seen this commercial before. Quite honestly, Ford hit is out of the park with this one. The commercial is not heavy handed or preachy, yet conveys what I can imagine what many vets face when coming home.

Wanting a Shelby cobra because your dad had one? Hell yeah! Ford ad executives forcing one down your throat because otherwise you hate America and don't support our troops? Go fuck yourselves, you freedom-hating ad-men. This ad is just marketing executives taking advantage of real and honorable emotions to sell us their product over their competitor's, shame on them. Do a commercial like this that isn't a blatant product placement and doesn't mention your brand, and maybe I'll give you some props, you manipulative assholes at Ford marketing. I even liked this car before this ad.
