volvo-p1800-1961

One of our busiest tipsters informs us that on this day in 1960 the Volvo P1800 debuted.

Thanks to Volvo for such an iconic car and to our fellow Hoon, MV, for sharing this with us.

Now back to Mecum.

  1. Now, there is a candidate for best seats in a car. I hope someone posts a pic of some of those great 1800 seats, from a early car. The dash and instrument look more or less sucked on those early cars but the seats made up for it.

      1. Looks better today, I agree. I was young and purist then anything with a chrome bezel was not for me. I wanted crinkle black and Jaegers only.

  2. I never knew I had the same birthday as the P1800! Although, when 53 years I reach, look as good, I will not.

        1. Really Charles doesn't come around often enough, it was worth a shot.

I found out the image was from Canada Track & Traffic March 1963 and was taken in Pioneer Village in Toronto Canada. Also this is pretty neat-o!

Dang blasted salt, haven't driven the Amazon in a long time now… I was invited to drive her in the next St. Pats parade two towns over though! I think it's cause Astrid is green, can't wait now!
