At nearly an hour and twenty minutes, this is our longest non-two-parter yet. We eventually get around to talking about British bikes, both classic and modern. Before that, however, we go back to catch some oddball bikes we neglected to talk about in Episode #14, and spend some time discussing a couple of bikes we do (and don’t) want. I’m searching for a modern supplement to the CL125S, while Garrett wants a new FZ-10…and my old leathers.

Dear advertising agency,
This would be a far more effective add if you got rid of the kickstand.
Just saying.
But that’s how you start a Triumph.
Oh I agree but it looks like he is faking it.
Some bikes challenge hemorrhoids.
TW200s are sooo much fun though. Ok. Mine was $5000 out the door, brand new last year. Which sounds like it is in your sticker-shock range. And I never saw one for less than $3000 on Craigslist when I was looking for used bikes.
It’s summer again, so the stock tune is working well (fuck, yeah, carburetors). Although, now I’ve got access to the idle mix screw, so I should be able to keep it able to start better. Still waffling on pulling the carb all the way off and shimming the needle.
Anyway: LeMons HQ cashed my check (memo field: “IDIOCY”), so I’m signed up for the LeMons Rally in August. It’s Monterey to Vegas to Monterey via Death Valley. I’m going to run the TW200 as my hooptie. I’ve got a great idea for a theme (secret for right now).
Finally: Canepa has an Ariel Square Four on their sales floor right now (Ok, as of two weeks ago when Seconds Saturdays went down there).
Pretty sure those leathers would look awesome on a TW200. Just sayin’.
You know, the Triumph kickstarter ad reminds me a bunch of the GM “Manstep” ads a couple years back (albeit with better execution).
Also, I thoroughly dig the modern Bonnevilles, although I’d appreciate that in a smaller package. So I guess, I really want a Moto Guzzi?
