A big Ford Wagon is a wonderful thing. Properly set up with an FE big block and clean interior, they’re perfect for cruising, camping, surfing or hauling a ton of car parts around. It’s hard to find examples that aren’t either too ratty (literally) or in such perfect condition as to command painful prices for something too nice to use properly. Luckily, our own Scott Ith has you covered with his 1964 Country Sedan that’s for sale.
It’s a perfectly 1964 shade of light blue over blue, in super-clean-but-not-perfect 99% original condition. Are the mechanical bits up to snuff? Well, it just completed a 2500 mile road trip, so…yeah, probably. Honestly, were this closer I’d be rationalizing hard to exchange my own blue albatross for this one.
Bidding’s a little over $8k right now, and per Scott’s own post the reserve is “around $10k”, a perfectly cromulent price.
My dream car.
It looks great – GLWS!
64 Shades of Blue wasn’t as big of a success, strangely enough.
I love this car. It’s is a noble car that would embiggen any family man’s heart.
It looks like a nice wagon, but for that kind of money shouldn’t it come with a Hooniverse sticker?
I’ll throw one in to the buyer if they drop us a line.
When I was a kid my dad had a Falcon Ranchero in the same color blue. We were a Ford family and I inherited the family 62 Galaxie 4 door sedan base model with I6/auto as my college ride. Similar vinyl interior but I loved the bench seat. I think this wagon would be a fantastic ride.
I’d love to have that… wish I had room for it .
The reserve is about exactly $10k. Here’s a shot of her in the Redwoods in Northern California. Such a great trip it was.
