How cool is this kid- he lives on a cul-de-sac, he drives a mad Mustang convertible, and by the look of his girlfriend, he’s obviously sporting Axe cologne.

My daughter's electric 4-wheeler doesn't go fast enough to do this stuff. I wonder if I can swap in a bigger motor…
Power Wheels ship as either 6V or 12V configurations. The motors are the same either way.
You can get some additional speed by adding extra batteries. The same motors probably won't burn anything up at 18V unless you really try, and you can put 24 volts through the 6/12 volt motors for short bursts with adequate cooldown intervals.
Also, check the curbs on heavy trash days, since many parents trash the toys once the batteries no longer hold a charge. Different models come with different gearing, so you can mix and match for acceleration or top speed. Google will help you find details.

So awesome. I picked up my boy's Jeep, please hold your surprise, on trash day. Couple new wheels and it was good as new. I have a sealed 12 volt in it now, but it really doesn't have enough umph. I like the idea about the jump starter, self contained, setup safety of some sort… 12 volts is probably enough for them now, I have to get them to tinker on their own… Mwahahaa.
The jump start enclosure wastes a lot of space on things you don't need, like a carry handle and 300A clamps. It's easier to mount the important stuff if you discard the fluff. You want to use a more appropriate quick-disconnect (or hardwire) anyway instead of battery terminal clamps.
Usually, even the cheapest jump start boxes have a work/emergency light. If you plan to do 24 volts anyway, buy two and you can fabricate a pair of functional driving lights.
I say add a small 24v battery and wire up a 24v "Nitrous" button!

A few times a year, the auto parts stores put jump start boxes on sale. I've gotten them for as little as $20, after rebate, for one without extra frills like air compressors, inverters, or weather radios. Inside, you get a 12 volt sealed lead acid battery, and also a charging circuit to hack into your kid's toy. You usually end up paying more than that for just the replacement battery from a place that rebuilds UPSs,.
Car batteries can spill dangerous acid on your kids, are heavier, are harder to mount (due to larger size and this-end-up considerations not at play with the SLA), and tend not to work as well when not fully charged.
And if you think your young hoon isn't going to put the Power Wheels upside down in a potential acid-spilling position at some point, turn in your hoon card. It means at least one of you isn't trying hard enough.
