Amelia Island Weekend Edition: The M1 Edition

This olelongrooffan likes me some BMWs. As I mentioned recently I have owned 4 E30s over the years. There are two BMWs that I really love and the M1 is one of them. I had never previously seen one and a week ago I saw a whole slew of them. It was an experience that was beyond words and still is. Enjoy.

There are few finer mediums for art than an M1.

Very cool. I've only ever seen one, a maroon one that was going down the road, years ago.

Saw an M1 turn laps in anger at Mosport a few years ago. Brilliant to look at, brilliant to hear.

When my mom would get her E30 serviced at the dealer in the 1980s, there was a white M1 displayed in the showroom. I asked her to bring me along whenever she had to drop off her car.

Wow— the "BMW Turbo" — is that the original Paul Bracq concept car?
And that speedometer? I've never seen a BMW with a linear speedometer like that — are there any closeups/galleries online with more? Whoa.
Hm, so the M1 shared tail lamps with the 6/7 series?
    Thanks LongRoofian!
