About Last Week's Track Tuesday

Surprisingly, no one was able to guess last week’s track. I’m not going to give you the answer directly, but instead offer up the whole track – the section highlighted last week is in the upper right-hand corner – and I’m betting that will make a starting light go off over your head.

I should have known this one…
My kid’s favorite track since PD put it in GT6.

Without giving it away to those who still haven’t figured it out, I guessed the right one only because I knew it was a remarkably long track. I was not familiar with the layout, and frankly that’s awesome squared! I had no idea it was this complex. You could theoretically have three separate races going on at the same time, and they’d each be on a very interesting circuit!

About 20 years ago an associate of a pal wanted to build a track north DFW. The design would be 3 tracks but could be any configuration of 2 or all 3. It had promise but eventually never took off.
He also bought the land to the east to subdivide. We looked into building there. I think Lou Gigliotti may have expressed interest in a home.
I checked and the westernmost track can still be seen on googlemaps.
Foy Wallace Rd Gunter, TX. Look to the south where Foy turns to the north.
      (Googlemap link didn’t work. Sorry)

I see what you mean about that track – it’s just barely visible, like it was graded and then left alone. Wasn’t that supposed to be a motorsports ranch, like the one down in Cresson? I seem to remember reading about it one time. As for Lou, he lives out near Farmersville (I looked it up awhile back). His old shop was less than five minutes from my house (it’s an equipment rental place now), and the new one is close to my work.

Yes- all 3 tracks were scraped but I believe that one was used by some guys on ATVs or bikes for a few years.
It was to be like MSR with memberships and garages. Plus an offroad section and a horse stable. The plan was to offer members a ride-drive affair with cars prepped and ready when the member arrives from the airport.
Things stalled out after many months but we still had hope. One afternoon several of us who had been interested or helping got an email saying this was the end, no further development would be made and any investments would be returned.
I’d never heard of the emailer which was strange. About 2 hours later we got an email from the principle saying the last email was false and work was continuing. The person who sent the initial email was the webpage developer. No one knew why he sent that thing out.
Eventually support started to falter and hope for the track ended. 🙁

I put far too much time into figuring this one out. Well done.
