The Soviets were trying to extract any information from our hero, but Chevy Smallblock was stronger than anything they could muster. The little Chevy that could was eventually returned home in exchange for the Tatra 603 V8 that tried to defect to the west.

Anyone here seen Three Kings?
This reminds me of when Marky Mark is interrogated, and the baddy pours oil down his mouth, and asks him what is wrong with Michael Jackson. Good times. -

"Carburetor too small…oil bath air cleaner…too restrictive…can't breathe! Stop it! I can't take it anymore!"

What is that, a Packard V8, or something else? One of the comments says it's an early 1955 small block, but the valve covers don't look like Chevy to me.

I'm thinking maybe Ford Y-Block.

Wrong side, I know, but the valve cover shapes and the locations of the distributor and oil-fill tube seem to correspond.-
Also there is a problem with the exhaust routing. Crossover pipe goes under the engine in the pic, yours is over the top. Oh I know, it must be a Generic V8

Hello People…. this is a Chevrolet Small Block Engine in the lead image. It's Chevrolet Orange, the exhaust manifold is distinctive Chevrolet, and the Air Cleaner is definitely 1955 – 57 Chevy. Here is a cutaway image of a Chevy Small Block courtesy of Edmunds Inside Line:

The version in the lead image has been somewhat genericized, however. There's no getting around the distinctive Y-block look to the valve covers– I don't think the SBC ever came from the factory with covers that were retained by studs coming up through the middle from the rocker mounts.

I expect they were fascinated by the cutting-edge technology that kept the gas and oil separate.
Since this is last call, I'll just leave this here. It could be yours – asking price is $650.
