My 1974 Mercedes-Benz 280 is getting a quick upgrade. It’s a small one, but I think it does a nice job on supplying an extra dash of style. I’ve purchased a set of Hella Lamin-X lens covers to give my fog lights that yellow look.
Against the blue paint work, the yellow fog lights pop rather nicely. It’s a quick change that enhances the overall look of the car.
They were easy to install, but I’m getting a little bit of lift on the edges. It’s not picking up off the lens, there’s just a few spots of bubbling. I’m going to get a strong rubberband and wrap one around each lens to try and put a consistent pressure around the outside. I think that will finish this off and get this looking perfect.
What do you think?

I would have been inclined to remove the bezels first, assuming the sheets are large enough to wrap that far, so the edges would end up tucked in place when done.
As a somewhat related matter, I have a set of rigid plastic covers designed specifically to convert 7″ sealed-beam headlights to selective yellow for temporary use in France, from back when that was a requirement. One of them is shown here leaning against a lava lamp, between a Flit gun and a spool of solder, because Atomic Toasters used to have scavenger hunts…

Atomic Toasters still has the scavenger hunts, but they’ve started hiding the posts. I guess you never bothered to upgrade your subscription. That probably explains why you didn’t submit something last week when the items were:
A model rocket
A feldspar specimen
A French car with only one row of seats
A diploma for a doctoral degree
A landline telephone-
Now you tell me! Four out of five of those are currently within reach without moving my office chair.
If I need more than three model rockets or seven feldspar specimens I’ll have to move the chair a bit.
Edit: Unless sand grains count as specimens, in which case I have quite a few feldspar specimens within reach.

Sweet!
Edit: Also, no they don’t reach into the bezels, unfortunately. I definitely would’ve done it that way.
I just now wrapped a zip tie around the outer edge of each one to try and settle down said edge.

I prefer the un-tinted look, honestly, but this is purely a subjective thing and the yellow doesn’t look bad at all. Love the car, though.

The yellow foggers really pop on the blue, nice! I still can’t stomach the black eyes.

Are there any other options for the headlights? Those LEDs just don’t look right on that car.

We’ve been looking for LED upgrades for 7″ round sealed beans and they are all terrible. These look the best. Most are a bug eye collection of circles inside a circle.
